Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in a first session?
The first session is a chance for us to meet, talk about what has brought you to therapy, and begin to explore your background and needs. It also gives you an opportunity to experience how I work and to decide whether you feel comfortable continuing. There is no pressure to return after the first appointment, as the aim of this session is simply to see whether we may be a good fit for working together.
Where are the sessions held?
Sessions are held in a private, comfortable space designed to help you feel at ease. I offer online, in-person, and hybrid options. In-person sessions are held in Lucan or Blanchardstown, Dublin, Ireland.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies greatly depending on your individual needs and goals. Some clients find that a shorter period of therapy is enough to work through a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term, open-ended work. We will regularly review our progress together to make sure therapy continues to meet your needs.
Is everything confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of psychological therapy. Everything discussed remains strictly confidential, with a few legal and ethical exceptions, which will be fully explained in our first session.
What are your fees?
The standard fee is €120 per 50-minute session. A limited number of concessionary spaces are available for students or those on lower incomes. Payment is taken by bank transfer prior to each session.
How often do sessions happen and how long are they?
Many clients start with weekly sessions, though this can be adjusted based on your circumstances and needs. Each session is 50 minutes long.
Does health insurance cover your services?
Dr. Niyazova is a registered Counselling Psychologist and Chartered Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), so your insurance may cover some of the fees. Please contact your health insurance provider to clarify, as it varies by provider and policy.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. If less than 48 hours' notice is given, or if a session is missed, the full session fee will apply.
Do you work with adults and children?
Dr. Niyazova works with adults only.
How do I book a session?
